professionally trained doula & childbirth educator
I cannot remember a time in my life when I did not know every detail of my arrival into this world. This sacred knowledge, along with years of working with people across the spectrum of pregnancy, form the roots of my growth as a full spectrum doula & childbirth educator.
My fascination with pregnancy began at the age of five when my mother gave birth to my brother. Since then, this passion has deepened as I watched my other two siblings enter this world and again, when I became a feminist at age 14.
As an adult, I have had the honor of witnessing people’s experiences with pregnancy and parenting for over eight years. I believe the pregnancy experience to be transformative regardless of the outcome. In addition to being a trained DONA International birth doula and ICEA childbirth educator, my experience and training is with supporting the LGBTQ community, teen parents, domestic violence, sexual assault and trauma survivors, abortion care, adoption support, community organizing, feminist & reproductive justice politics and healthy sexuality education. In all of the work that I do, I bring with me a warm heart and a commitment to creating safe & empowered space for pregnant people, children and families of all kinds.
When I am not joyfully immersed in my work as a Chicago full spectrum doula & childbirth educator, you will most likely find me drinking a giant mug of tea, spending time with my incredibly loving & supportive partner Meggan, cross stitching, practicing yoga, volunteering with Chicago Volunteer Doulas or geeking out about public health.
I look forward to meeting you & supporting you through your pregnancy journey!
